Design & Research

I served as a design consultant with Illinois Design Consulting (IDC) for three years. IDC is the University of Illinois’ student design consulting firm, meant to aid clients with brand development, product ideation, and interface design.

I was able to hone my skills relating to product design, 3D modeling, and design research. Work & more info below.

Project
Marmon Holdings tasked our team of 6 with creating a new safety device for their railway workers. They were in need of something that could activate an emergency rail stop at the push of the button— with communication features and a durable design.

We presented briefs for potential new device designs. I led research and communication with current workers to gauge their needs. I also contributed to the design and modeling of our mock-ups.

For Provenance Security, a cybersecurity startup, I led the iteration and development of internal dashboard wireframes for their threat alert and endpoint monitoring platform.

My work involved designing and refining multi-panel interfaces across Alerts, Endpoints, and System Details pages (prioritizing clarity, hierarchy, and actionability for technical users). I focused on simplifying information architecture, aligning visual language across views, and integrating user feedback to streamline workflows like threat triage and endpoint management.

The result was a unified, intuitive UI system built for rapid threat response and scale.
